How the checker works
- One row = one line (วรรค). A blank line starts a new stanza or section; a line in brackets such as [Chorus] names a section.
- Counts are syllables (in Thai verse a "word", คำ, is a syllable). Thai and Kham Mueang are read by the Thai spelling rules; type Kham Mueang the way it is read (ฮัก, ใจ๋).
- Rhyme by sound: the same vowel, vowel length and final sound (มาตรา ๘). Green = rhymes, amber = close (same vowel, near ending, or one syllable off), grey = not yet.
- Khao, joi and so are hints, never verdicts: scholars draw the chart differently and old manuscripts have none. Tone hints follow Chiang Mai speech as written in the dictionary.
- Mixed languages: the form's language carries the rhyme. A line in another script under a line (e.g. an English translation under a Kham Mueang line) is shown as its translation and not counted.
