The Mongol storm around Lanna, year by year (1253–1368)
A 15-step map from the Mongol conquest of Dali (1253) through the 20,000-man Yuan campaign against Babai Xifu (1301–1303) to Lanna's envoys and the token titles it accepted. Each step sets "the Yuan record" (the original Chinese line with a translation) beside "the Lanna side", with Kham Mueang words from the dictionary and sources, plus a tab that decodes the name 八百媳婦.
How to use it
Use ‹ › ▶ or the slider to step through the years; switch between The Yuan record and The Lanna side to compare; tap a Kham Mueang word to open the dictionary; in the Decode tab, tap each Chinese character.
What it teaches
How the Mongol-Yuan pressed on Lanna, why the Yuan campaign failed, how war turned into envoys and gifts, and how to read the two sides' records.
